Twenty-one years ago, QueBIT’s original name and logo was born out an evening collaboration with my wife Sara. Sara was pregnant at the time, and she used to refer to our soon to be child as “a bit of Q”; hence the name QueBIT. The .com URL was conveniently available. Unfortunately, I didn’t have the where with all at the time to also take the available “qubit.com”, long before this became universally recognized as the name for a quantum computer chip. My wife takes credit for the decision to use primary colors in the logo cube, and the diamond separator prior to “IT” in the name. The artwork was otherwise mine. One might argue that the logo’s clear lack of artistic sophistication is more than made up for by its charm. Perhaps not surprisingly in our early years, some thought that QueBIT was in the business of creating children’s toys!
The first ten years of QueBIT’s existence established a brand that was built on a foundation of excellence in Planning, Business Intelligence and Data Management. This later evolved to excellence in Planning, Data Science and Data Management, and then to the integration of Financial Planning and Operational Planning, with the infusion of A.I. and Machine Learning. The evolving three pillars of the business were reflected in the next iteration of the logo, using three separate cubes, now with accurate artistic perspective. The primary colors remained, albeit softened toned versions, and the separator was further emphasized with “BIT” now in a red, along with the registered trademark symbol.
Twenty-one years on from the unsophisticated origins of the QueBIT name and logo, the QueBIT brand is reimagined, now reflecting our single focus of delivering excellence in xP&A. The three cubes have now become one again. The separator has long gone because QueBIT has single-minded purpose, with the cube now on the right, indicating our long-term future direction.
